Archive for 2002

Season's greetings.

It’s been a while since my last update; I am aware.  But nonetheless, the rate of visits to the site has been steady, and it gives me great pleasure to know, and boast, that one lucky viewer was graced with this text:

I’m finally free.

I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, almost.  And the worst part is that I’m actually quite relieved.  I’m obviously still in shock.

That’s right.  Today I walked out of Uni High for the last time as a student.  For the first time in 13 years I will be free to do (mostly) whatever I choose (for a year).  It is a pity, I guess, but in all honesty, this year almost killed me.  I worked harder than I ever have before, and I even still have the feeling that my marks won’t be backing that. Still alive.

Just thought I should let you know that I actually haven’t abandoned my web semipresence.  I’ve just been studying.  Yes, you heard right.  Studying.  Because this is (hopefully) the last time in my life* that studying will really, really matter.  So I’m going for it exhaustingly.  Exams are real soon and I plan to do well on them.

Once they’re over, I’ll have enough spare brain power to add something to the site.  I just might get around to finding my old diaries and further populating the Doodles section.

As always, if you look around you just may see some updates.

*  Yes, apart from Uni.  Don’t burst my bubble.

Bandwidth delight!

My revolutionary new page design means even less page downloading time for all my loyal viewers.  It really is one of a kind, and I doubt anyone else in the world has applied it.

Hopefully that’s because I’m really smart, and not because I’m just a moron.  But anyway, any web programmers out there, view the source of this page and take a look.  A heck of a lot easier than server side scripting.

And for those of you that don’t really give a rat’s arse, well… there’s something for you too.  I’ve added 20020126 to My Pieces.

The Little Black Ring?

Yes, the Little Black Ring.  How does such a small piece of rubber or plastic give so many people so much happiness?  You too can experience the wonders of it by visiting the Little Black Ring section.

Yes, I know I haven’t updated for a while.  But how do you know for sure?  Read the dates at the bottom of each page and you’ll see I’ve been quite busy.

But I blame schoolwork mainly.  And just a reminder that the Stuffed Company Slogan of the Day is ‘Seated on So Much Levels of Confidence™’.  I can’t remember where I saw it but it’s pretty… well, stuffed.  At best.

I found a copy of my old website on a CD somewhere, so I’ve populated some of my pages with that junk.  But beware, over the last few years quite a lot of my opinions have changed, so don’t take them for gospel just yet.

(And by that I mean the information on the pages and not my opinions.  You are, however, welcome not to take them at all.)

All of the links on the side should be working by now, even if they just point to an empty page for the time being.

Nothing to see here.

Right now the website’s undergoing some under-the-hood changes.  Nothing cosmetic or informational is changing.  If anything, you may notice that the pages are loading faster, or you may find that you can’t see the link bars, or headlines… or other stuff.

If you can’t though, then your browser is crap.  It’s not my fault.

It’s on its way now. Really.

The creative juices really are flowing now.  The design is usable, the content is streaming along, the background images are hiding somewhere and the colours are possibly temporary.  Yep, something is on the way now.  I can feel it in my bones, unless I’m an extremely young sufferer of osteoporosis. So what's with the banner ads?

Those of you who think you know me may be wondering how a banner ad could have sneaked its way into the design.  But the answer is quite simple—all free hosts, bar two, are forcing ads upon us.  So why try to fight it?

If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.  Besides, we all know how drab my designs can look without a bit more colour.
